08 Aug Collaborating with 21st Century Principals
Had a great day yesterday!
Led a workshop for school Principals and aspiring Principals from government, Catholic and independent schools in Geelong, Australia. It was fantastic!
The participants came with different backgrounds, different life experiences, different working experiences, different leadership positions and minds open to new perspectives. This diversity created a rich and fertile ground to set the scene for a thought-provoking day of collaboration and learning. Open-mindedness paved the way for growth mindsets to flourish in all participants throughout the workshop. It was exciting and inspiring!
Together we explored the complexity of 21st Century Learning and the challenging position we find ourselves in 21st Century Schools. We compared and contrasted traditional and 21st Century leadership styles and discovered the most important skills to focus on as a successful 21st Century Leader.
Participants reflected on their leadership strengths and challenges. They learnt practical tools and strategies to improve their leadership capacity and the leadership capacity in their schools. And most importantly they had a lot of fun!
Think Strategic creates an online collaborative destination for workshop participants that includes the latest research findings on 21st Century leadership, great books on leadership, and leadership tools and strategies.
Yesterday’s participants were so inspired they are planning a collaborative get-together in the weeks and months to come.
It made me think of that wonderful quote by Margaret Mead, the revered 20th Century cultural anthropologist, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
I’ve received many enquiries from around the world to run 21st Century leadership workshops closer to you.
So I’m very excited to tell you that I’m currently negotiating to hold the next Think Strategic Workshop, ‘Leadership for the 21st Century’ in Bangkok, Thailand and look forward to releasing the date and venue in a week or two.
